We are looking for a Shift Mechanic to join our Engineering Team at Lothian Country to maintain and undertake diagnostic work on old and new vehicle technology ensuring optimum reliability and performance.
The shifts are 4 over 7 including weekends and evenings.
What Will You be Doing?
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all types of vehicles to Lothian & DVSA standards
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
- Attending vehicle breakdowns as and when required
- Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
- Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
- Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
What Do You Need?
- You must possess a full UK driving licence
- You must be a time served motor vehicle mechanic
- A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
- An aptitude to develop others within the engineering team to improve efficiencies
- Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours
- Experience of working in the truck or bus industry would be advantageous
