Trainee Coach Driver (Eve Coaches)
We’re currently looking for new trainee coach drivers to join us based at our garage in Dunbar. As a Trainee Coach Driver, you’ll receive all the necessary training, which is fully funded by Lothian, letting you drive your career to the next level.
This role gives you an opportunity to travel throughout the UK undertaking touring programmes, private hires, day tours and local groups. Our coach drivers are excellent ambassadors for our business, delivering high levels of customer service through their enthusiasm and positivity.

Here’s what you can expect as a trainee coach driver:
- Paid training whilst you work towards gaining your PCV Bus licence is £13.45 per hour (Cat D) – all costs covered by Lothian
- Hourly rate of £15.00 per hour after 4 weeks’ training
- Guaranteed 40-hour working week (full time) and paid overtime available
- Ongoing training and development to support your career, including annual CPC training
- Free travel across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas on all Lothian buses and Edinburgh Trams
- Automatic enrolment into a free HSF Health Plan, helping with a wide range of healthcare costs including optical, dental, physiotherapy, podiatry and more
In return, our trainee coach drivers will need to:
- Hold a full UK driving licence for more than one year, with no more than 6 penalty points
- Be flexible to work a wide range of shift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays
Please note, you will be required to attend an assessment centre at the Eve garage, followed by training at Longstone, Edinburgh, if successful.
