Lothian is the main bus operator serving Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Midlothian, West Lothian and East Lothian. Complementing the city’s bus network is Edinburgh Trams, which operates a frequent tram service between Newhaven and Edinburgh Airport, connecting key destinations across the city.

We are looking for Airport Travel Advisors to join our award winning team, based at Edinburgh Airport & Waverley Bridge. You will deliver a first-class end to end customer experience whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Maximising each interaction with customers by combining excellent sales service and product knowledge, with onward travel information including the Lothian tourism portfolio and wider city connections.
Please note this is an outdoor role, with shifts from 0700 until 2400 hours, 7 days per week.
Main duties & Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for providing our customers with clear and correct product information to ensure that they have an excellent customer experience
- As an ambassador you will optimise each customer interaction and foster brand loyalty
- You will advise the best option of ticket(s) available to our customers – individual and/or groups
- You will be expected to maintain a high level of knowledge of the whole Lothian network and proactively make recommendations to customers to suit their travel needs
- You will be required to assist customers to board the bus and ensure that the service leaves on time
- You will be required to maintain the Information areas, e.g., refill leaflets as required, ensuring the area is clean, clear, and presentable at all times
- You will be expected to establish and maintain good working relationships with your colleagues
- When working at Edinburgh Airport you will support with any incidents e.g., bus breakdown, contacting appropriate people etc.
- You may need to carry out your role from a different location as required
Essential Requirements
- Helpful and friendly to ensure you create an excellent customer experience
- Able to communicate effectively – active listening to ensure understanding of requirements
- Be technology proficient to support customer needs – e.g., use Apps, MTickets, Contactless payments
- Has great attention to detail, accuracy when dealing with ticket sales and follows due process
- Ability to assess risks, prioritise actions and solve problems logically and safely
- Displays high standard of personal appearance, tidiness, and timekeeping
- Be an excellent team player
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain a satisfactory Level 1 Disclosure (previously Basic Disclosure) through Disclosure Scotland.
- Ability to satisfy the requirements for the issue of a Landside Security Pass, which is a requirement for working at Edinburgh Airport
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience of the bus or transport industry.
- Can speak a second language.
- Able to assist with luggage

- Salary of £27,976
- An allowance will be paid for shifts ending after 2000 hours
- 40 hours per week, between 0700-2400 hours
